The USC attack, which had decimated opponents in the season’s first three games, didn’t have a very successful night. However, Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams orchestrated a valiant drive in the final seconds to defeat a significantly improved Oregon State squad 17-14 in Corvallis.

With 1:19 left in the game, Williams connected with highly-touted transfer receiver Jordan Addison for a 21-yard touchdown pass to secure the victory in front of a furious Reser Stadium crowd.

It concluded an 11-play, 84-yard drive that featured a wild fourth down convert in which Williams just over the goal line with the help of teammates.

On the following drive, Max Williams intercepted Beavers QB Chance Nolan to clinch the victory. This was Nolan’s fourth pick-six of the evening.

With a remarkable +14 turnover differential this year, USC is 4-0 (2-0 in the Pac-12) and off to a good start in Lincoln Riley’s first season as head coach.

It’s a huge wasted opportunity for Oregon State, which is now 3-1 overall and 0-1 in Pac-12 play, to defeat a top-10 opponent and demonstrate the program’s growth under coach Jonathan Smith.

Despite its offensive woes, OSU led for the majority of the game. Early in the second quarter, Deshaun Fenwick scored a touchdown on a 4-yard run to put the Beavers ahead 7-0.
