Ime Udoka, the head coach of the Boston Celtics, might be suspended or subject to further disciplinary measures as a result of an undetected breach of team policies, claims ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Woj stated that “discussions are ongoing” over potential sanctions.
Ime Udoka began his debut season as an NBA head coach last year when he joined the Celtics. He was chosen by outgoing head coach turned president of basketball operations Brad Stevens to lead Boston to its first trip to the Finals in more than ten years.
It’s unclear what team rules Ime Udoka may have broken as of this writing. The Celtics media day is scheduled for this coming Monday, so look for more updates shortly.
The Celtics’ coach Ime Udoka might now be absent for a large chunk of the season. Boston’s path to returning to the Finals gets considerably more rocky if he is ultimately punished.
